  2. Chop the beef to bite size.

  3. In hot oil brown the the meat with the onion, garlic and vegetables.
    Add the bay leafs, and season with salt and pepper.

  4. Pour the Guinness, cover with a lid, and cook until the meat is totally cooked. Must be soft and tender.

  5. Place one sheet of puff pastry in a baking tray.
    Prick with a fork over the base.

  6. Fill with the cooked beef and Guinness stew.
    Cover with the second layer of puff pastry.

  7. Pinch the two puff pastry sheets together.
    Cut a few holes in the pastry lid to allow steam escape.

  8. Give a good egg wash.
    Bake for 30 minutes in 200 °C  (400 °F) preheated oven.
